Did You See All That #Blackgirlmagic at the Academy Awards Last Night?
Ah, what a difference a year makes! The Oscars have come a long way from the #oscarssowhite controversy last year. And while I'm the first to acknowledge that we have a looooonnnnggg way to go, that doesn't mean we can't be happy for the progress we've made thus far.
With that being said, I'm sending a huge congrats to Viola Davis for becoming the first black woman to win an Oscar, Emmy and Tony for acting. I'm also sending a huge congrats to Moonlight for winning Best Picture, the first LGBTQ and all black movie to win that award.
